Automatic Lighting Control for Energy Savings
It's well-known that turning off the lights when leaving the room is one of the simplest ways to cut down on energy usage. Yet it's not always convenient or easy to remember, especially in places where a variety of people are coming and going throughout the day.

The ODS10-ID helps eliminate the problem of load type selection by providing automatic control of incandescent lamps, fluorescent, and low-voltage lighting with electronic or magnetic ballasts. It provides an adjustable 180-degree field of view with optional adjustments for sensitivity, ambient-light override, and delayed OFF time. The unit also features a manual override switch that can be used to keep lights OFF while an area is occupied, which may be desired in conference rooms and other areas during slide or film presentations.

For increased energy savings , the ODS10-ID offers a light sensor which provides an ambient-light override option that can be set between 2 and 500+ foot-candles at full brightness to prevent the sensor from switching lights ON when there's sufficient sunlight, regardless of occupancy.

About PIR Technology
The ODS10-ID uses Passive Infrared (PIR) detection technology via a segmented Fresnel lens to monitor a room for occupancy. This specialized lens divides the field of view into sensor zones. When a person passes into or out of a sensor zone, the sensor detects motion and switches the lights ON. The lights will remain ON as long as there is an occupant in the room. When the space being monitored by the sensor is unoccupied for the preset time you've chosen, the unit will switch the lights OFF.

Long Life and Automatic or Manual Operation
To ensure longer service life and compatibility with electronic ballasts, the ODS10-ID carefully times its switching-contact opening and closing with the zero crossing point of the AC power curve (Zero Crossing Technology). Additionally, a latching relay provides prevents product failure when used with high inrush loads.

For manual control, the ODS10-ID features a convenient push-button switch. If the lights are OFF, pressing the button will turn lights ON and keep them ON for as long as the room is occupied. This mode is ideal for areas where manual ON switching is required but automatic OFF switching is desired for energy savings (CEC Title 24 Compliant). Lights can also be turned OFF manually at any time by pressing the push button.

For three-way and four-way control, the ODS10-ID features multi-location capability, where multiple sensors can work with one load. Multiple sensors are wired together with the load to turn the lights ON. Both sensors must time-out or both manual buttons must be pressed for the lights to turn OFF.

Compliancy and Warranty Information
UL-Listed and CSA certified, the Leviton ODS10-ID Decora Wall Switch Occupancy Sensor complies with California Title 24 Energy Code and FCC regulations, and it is backed by a five-year limited warranty.
